Lina Neneova with the Mick Green Award

Lina has just completed her first season as an umpire, her progress has been remarkable to say the least

She and her husband Rashko and daughter Neda are now firmly settled in Barnsley. Lina is practicing her English and is developing a slight Barnsley accent with “shudd up” one of  her favourites.

She has a great future in the game, her enthusiasm knows no bounds

Lina Neneova with the Mick Green Award that was presented to her last Wednesday by Prakash Mishra the captain of Bulgaria on behalf of the SYSCL Umpires Association

He is hoping to bring the national team to SY in 2018 to play some games as warm up matches for the Bulgarian team to  qualify for the ICC  Trophy.

Lina won the award for her efforts last season, her first. The season included a trip to the center of Excellency at Loughborough where she was coached by two lady Test umpires, Sue Redfearn and Loraine Edgar.

This was followed by  more training and peer observations at a 2 day tournament in Bishop Stortford.

Lina then officiated in the SYSCL Presidents Trophy Final staged at Worsborough Bridge.

She has already  been given dates to do Yorkshire ladies county cricket in 2018.
